Hope you can help me, I am having trouble stopping the paddle spinning on the shaft when put under load,, tried putting superglue onto paddle and pushing back onto shaft, works for a while but then starts spinning . Any tips for fixing it onto the shaft for good. Gerard

Hi Gérard
Try drilling a 1mm hole through the blade and shaft and put a brass or stainless pin in.

Hi Gerard, what battery are you using? Most thrusters I've used have a max voltage of 7.2
Higher voltage would cause the shaft to spin in the paddle. Are you using a speed controller
Or is full power on start up?

If you have a Raboesch bow thruster, it is locked in place by a grub screw, just shorten a hex wrench and you can tighten it back up.

Hi boat captain and kinmel, I'll try to put a pin in it but it might be hit and miss , and yes kinmel it is a Raboesch thruster can't see any grub screw, but I might be not seeing it eyes not too hot.

I had the same issue with my tug boat, try running the thruster on 6 volt. Worked for me
I also have the big Raboesch thruster in my HMS Mersey and that runs spot on with 6v rather than 7.2v which was too fast and very noisy.
