Hi All,
Im working on a Film project where we need an operational water drone (similar to the Remus 100 uav's)
Only we dont have £450,000!!
Our plan at the moment is to purchase an Engel Model sub and to adapt and dress it accordingly.
While our Prop makers are great technicians they don't have any experience of submersible models (and we haven't really the time for them to learn.
So we are looking for someone with plenty of experience to quickly and professionally assemble the ENGEL Kit for us.

Looks like the prototype is a fairly simple shape, should be too difficult to scratch build

Engel Kit or Scratch build whatever is quicker really, do you take commissions Tom?

I think i spoke with earlier on the phone after you left a message. Having googled the Remus drone, I would say a Lafayette will need quite a bit of modification to make a passable looking replica because the aspect ratio (width in relation to length) is much higher on the Lafayette- meaning it's longer and thinner. The UAV's seem to be around 7:1 aspect, which is about optimum.
Therefore an attack class submarine hull would be a better choice, as they tend to be around that sort of aspect ratio.
Is it necessary for these boats to dive on the spot, i.e. a static diver, capable of submerging without forward motion? If not you can dispense with a ballast system, trim the boats low in the water and dive dynamically- in other words underwater flight.
