Title: 37 inch wooden Hulled Precedent Perkasa
Post by: flack on September 15, 2016, 03:41:15 pm
Hi,

Just about to embark on building the all wood 37 inch Perkasa and having spent some time looking through the instructions and drawings (certainly not to scale!) I'm already stuck on the size of the propshaft. I will almost certainly fit a 5mm shaft as it will be a brushless model but as to the length I have no idea, any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers Shaun

Perhaps build your hull first, leaving the hole for the shaft at approx. angle, work out where your brushless motor will sit and the approx. angle of that, allow for the coupler and the rudder position ,don't forget, and measure the length you need with a piece of tube etc.   Modelboatbits can make these.Bob
