Please can someone help i need to know the height of the mast on a marble head, for a vintage yacht. 5ft...

Have a read of these, they have all the rules you need to work it out ....

Not being a math genius myself it's too complicated for me, so as a rough guide, my old marblehead had a mast that was approx 7' 6" from deck to tip, this was for the 'A' rig, the mast I have on it now is a 'B' rig & is about 6' 6" tall. (I'm 5' 6") :-))

A lot depends on just how vintage the yacht is. The original Marbleheads had a shallow fin and a corresponding length of mast. Sometime (probably mid '50's) the long fin with a bulb ballast appeared and mast lengths increased dramatically to allow higher aspect ratio rigs.
Have a look in http://www.vmyg.org.uk/
Probably the only things that have stayed constant over the years are the hull length and maximum sail area, and even that has been subject to changes in measurement methods.
