Thanks
Jay

Don't know precisely, but would estimate around the 8-10kg range dry, and considerably more when wet.
-
thanks its mainly the weight when transporting I'm concerned of

If you want something easily transportable, an attack class nuke in the same scale- 1/96- would be much easier, and they sail nicer too, owing to the lower aspect ratio.

Aye but there aint one available ready built at the mo

Trident bomber boats are always chunky unless very small scale. The earlier bomber boats are a lot more manageable at 1/96 scale. Think carefully about the boat you choose, there are plenty out there.

If you want a nice portable ssbn that sails brilliantly then the engel laffayette is the way to go, especially if you can get a second hand one!
-
Thats the trouble there aint many out there or what is is too far away and I continually trawl all the forums and the bay :((

Jaymac.
One point no one has mentioned is a dry or wet hulled boat.
Ie free floodareas all around a module or a built in pressure hull with only small.rear area that is free flood.
Remember as a kid trying to hold a football under water ?.
If transportation weight is an issue you need to go for a wet hulled boat ie one with a module in it this will keep the weight down considerably.

Thanks Sub driver thats about the only thing I already managed to suss the rest is still dark and mysterious

have you seen MMB,s LA class hull....nice size for transportation and really good mouldings also a good sensible price too. Its a US Los Angeles class.
