Hi everybody. My workshop is the kitchen table and a 1 meter long shelf under the kitchen window. Sometimes I need to improvise with what tools I have. I have no Pillar drill and needed some reasonably accurate holes in Bowsprit and Mast, so this is what I came up with. Using two V blocks was OK, the magnets in the motor holding the motor in place, but a bit fiddly. So I compromised using the spirit level, not as a spirit level, just as a log arm. I know that the drill is actually describing an Arc, but with such a small distance moved it makes little difference.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Good lateral thinking :-))

Thanks Dougal, I actually read one of Edward de Bono's books on Lateral Thinking many years ago.
