Title: Radio and speed controler for Mr. Darby Tug
Post by: Djmcem on January 02, 2017, 08:49:24 pm
i am looking to finish my build I started years ago
I have 2 pitman motors installed direct drive that I purchased from harbor models
Looking for a radio with at least 12 channels
I was hoping to have a twin stick but it looks like robbe is out of business
The pitman are 12 volt number 14204C637
Not sure how many amps they draw

Hi there, those pitman motors are great, recon on around 15 amps each but get an esc that will cope with at least 30 amps, preferably more, it depends on whether you are using a geared drive and the prop you use. I would contact component shop and ask about the action range and possibly a mixer to control them.
There are many good radio sets, you may not need seperate channels for each gadget, switchers are available that give 2 or more functions from each channel. again action and others can help.
