I was watching this Youtube vid and it has prompted me to scratch the surface a little with drone technology

Anybody got any drone footage of their model boat?

Ron Perrott took a load of video footage at last years Norwich Sub Weekend...he has a DJi Phantom, it's most disconcerting to see this drone following the wake from your periscope %)
I'll see if I can find the footage and upload it here.

Who is going to police these laws?
PCSO's with Drone Seeking Radar Guided Missiles attached to their hats?
It will just go the way that CB Radio went.
Most complying, but the Cowboys with the illegal, unlicenced gear just carried on.
I've seen 35Mhz gear used in boats and the users just say 'No planes around here so it don't matter'

Your probably right , it's the low foreheads who will cause an out cry , unfortunately someone will be injured or killed by one of these things one day, there's too many around . . . their flying them over peoples heads with no regard for safety , we often see them wizzing past the lake straight up the prom' & 5 mins later coming back the other way, I think they can be programmed to get to a location & back again with no one in sight with the box . . . that cant be safe . . .

I have been told that a cruise ship captain has collected a couple of drones which flew over the vessel when moored so as to get an outside view of the vessel. Once on the far side of the vessel the signal was lost so the drone went into automatic mode, descended to a 'safe' level and flew back towards its operator - until it collided with the side of the ship....

I think to get good shots of model boats on the water, you really need a low camera angle. This would be problematic for safety and for some practical flying reasons; sadly. Otherwise they could be a fantastic tool for filming model boats.

I'm just starting out trying to get some shots of our boat racing, I have a waterproof Splashdrone, an older Phantom Vision 2+, and a brand new Mavic Pro that I'm waiting to test.
Here's a video at our pond.
