Because I cannot get my head around this problem at all.
As can be seen in the drawing, two standard rudder linkages. My problem is I have as shown by the green box a part that practcally butts up to the rudder shafts and this cannot be moved, it is limiting the rudders to around 5mm of movement. How can I joggle the connectors so that I get a full range of movement from the arms please, I have sat with bits linkage trying to work on out, drawing it on paper and still getting nowhere.

Is there any reason why you have two separate rudder linkages or is there something in between the rudders that would prevent connecting them together? (I'm thinking like a catamaran hull or similar?)

Sorry just seen the extra green box... %)

sorry mate, just modified the drawing. The green box represents an internal box (hangar) inside the hull, its shown in plan view but it covers the green area and goes from the keel all the way up to deck level, so really no way of cross linking the rudders.

What about worm gear? Or conical gear?
You would still need to work out a way to turn the worm/conical driving gear.

Or an alternative would be to cut a nice round servo disc like this? That too would give you space at the rear - Oh obviously removing the shaded area {-)

I don't want to go worm drive as the whole thing is becoming a mechanical nightmare as it is. I think I'll take a look at Martins second image and mock it up on some scrap timber and of course Marks disk could be promising, but I think it may 'bind' as the link are not on the centre line.

X 2 tooth belt pulleys 1:1 raito and a tooth belt

I haven't mocked it up but what about having a vee shape on the top of the rudder to connect to?
This would give you more movement before hitting the rear restriction.

Brian - I think your right. Would it still bind if you mirrored the servo disc from the rudder onto the servo? Just a thought mate I'm just guessing?

Any variation on this twin rudder drive from MBM member Danielle .......two servos & two chain drives??

I think Martins way is the best way to go have seen it in other boats.
