Just been looking at your web page, and very impressive and very informative.
One thing that puzzles me is, I couldn't see the lifeboat weekend in the diary, that I have heard you put on, and wondered whether you don't put this on anymore, or are your club just having a break.
I used to know a man called John Dowcre that made the pilgrimage every year for a few years up to the north west, Southport I think to a big lifeboat show. Sadly he died some years ago but was a great supporter of the RNLI. Does that not take place anymore.

The lifeboat rally at Southport sadly declined many years ago.Not sure about the other venue.

hi jim.
regarding lifeboat day,the last time etherow put on this event, the day went very well good attendance ,weather etc even the mayor of stockport attended.
but my predecessor, let a few people down and cost the club money.we still have bad vibes from this years later.
we have been asked about this event recently so watch this space!.
thanks for your interest in the club.
nb our landing stage is approx. 15mtr x8mtrs if all the members turned up for a sail problem.

Clever little web site - it knew that it had a visitor from New Zealand. It should have said "a visitor TO New Zealand" since I am normally only a 30 minute bus ride from Martin's hideyhole

it still runs daily, weather permitting. today it looks like a Tupperware butty box, but is equipped with water jet drive for propulsion.
