Title: Engel Gato
Post by: ex docky on March 05, 2017, 05:56:21 pm
Help required!
I have an Engel Gato in build, complete with folding fwd. planes.
Having problems trying to fit the fill/ drain pipe on the fwd ballast tank around the fwd planes drive mechanism.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply, the problem I've had is at the fwd end of the tank.
The water comes out from the ballast tank via the tube at a 12 o'clock position (to help the ballast tank bleed itself of air)
It then has to negotiate the fwd plane retract mechanism and then do a 180 bend.
All with zero space and no visual observation. I didn't want to have to fit a fwd hatch if at all possible!
Once clear fitting the outlet overboard isn't too much of a problem (I HOPE)

On mine (formally marks) the tanks vent through the bottom 4 o'clock and 7 o'clock ish . Works fine and reduces pipe running through the sub.

Cheers Tom couldn't remember how they ran as long as the connected pipe doesn't kink I think you could run it any which way the pipe is quite stiff so will be pretty hard to cause a kink that would stop water flow
