Hi
Has anybody any experience of ordering plans from RC Marine, a French model magazine.
Thanks
Richard

Anybody got any ideas at all ???

Just that you feel that someone is reading you : I did not order from RC Marine but I did order from another French magazine named " Bateau Modele"
On their website, you have a wide choice of plans http://www.bateaumodele.com/plandetail.php?menu=plandetail&cat=13&titre=1&PHPSESSID=482314bb7752d4dacedebfcf10b50266
You must choose between 17 categories and then click your choice in the box named "titres"
Just for sail, you have 3 categories : old boats (vieux greements), regular sailboat (voile) and race boats (voile moderne)
You have a steam category (vapeur), a war ship category (bateau de guerre), a fishing boat category (bateau de peche), a submarine category (sous-marins), etc, etc

Hi Romain
I have noticed some nice old boats under VOILE as well.
perhaps you should post this link in scale sail, with a note of how to spot the difference between RC and static/display model.

Unfortunatly the 2 plans I want only seem to appear in the RC Marine magazine. The only way to buy appears to be to write to them with a Carte Blanche credit card.
I also need to get the next issue of Bateau Modele as it has the second part of the Joshua build and review, but that seems relativley easy O0
I'll keep looking !!
Thanks

Richard,
RC marine will take any Visa or Mastercard - CB means Carte Bleu which is sort of a French abbreviation for any credit card. I haven't ordered anything, but have studied the order form which does cater for non French postage. I had a query from someone in Spain who wanted to order a plan, and I looked at the order form and gave him a rough translation.
I am going to France on the 11th and hope to pick up any of the magazines which are available in the 'Presse' - do you want me to try get a copy for you?

Hi Barrie
If you could see if issue 77 of Bateau Modele is available I'd love a copy. I don't think it is available until end Sept. but you never know.
Thanks for the offer and I'm going to try to order the other 3 sets of plans over the weekend.
Thanks
Richard

Richard,
OK - I'm back on the 14th so will let you know if I am successful.
Barrie
PS I think CB actually stands for Carte Bancaire - I'm sure Roger will tell us!
-
It really meant Carte Bleue which is a kind of Visa Card.

Sorry, took me a while to reply as I am away from my home on holiday.
"CB" originally stood for Carte Bleu the earliest form of credit card in circulation in France. As the market became flooded with various cards it became usual to see cards referred to as "Carte Bancaire".
So, you are all correct!
