not the Southport I know.............it's not posh enough to be our Southport. {-) %% ;D

Goodness our Southport has grown.....last time I was there were only a few wooden boats tied up to a rickety old wooden planked siding waiting for the tide to come in %) just by the creek that drains into that other water hole that Cookie called the Pacific Ocean......or have they renamed that bit of water too?

Year & we all know that bloke only too well {-)...was he not the Skipper of that old Collier called the Earl of Pembroke? O0.......
He sighted the Creek I mentioned earlier this morning......probably a little taken back by our burning OZ sun ...as he christened it Southport Creek.....which is a conundrum because he was actually sailing North.....so the name of the Creek should have been Northport
Obviously a sailor not too well versed with his left & right >>:-(
Well that my story anyway...until I find a History teacher to correct me otherwise.....Derek
