Post code for Westbourne Road is CH48 4DH I am reliably informed, car park is on the left passed Westbourne hall and the next road just before the hedge, don't drive into the gentleman's garage by mistake. Sign in at 10.30 start at 11.00 hopefully three man teams which will be assembled on the day so don't worry if you come alone. This is a fun day when I get my own back with a trying and unusual assortment of courses to test every one but the Officer of the Day, ME. ;D :D :'(

...Hi Guys...
I wont make it down this Sunday as it is our Open Day at Largs M.B.C. . That doesn,t mean that there wont be any Scots there this time round as Billy & Jamsie might just pop down...
Stavros...A Wee Tip...Turn up on Sunday with something nice in your lunchbox to tempt the judges with...The last time we were down our Freshly Cooked Rolls & Scotch Slice Sausage were tempting the judges but we never gave in to their demands...
Go along & meet the gang & have a good day with the best bunch of lads that you could meet...
...All The Best For Sunday Guys...Norry...

Well gee thanks fellas, was thinking we might have a conventional course this year for a change. Ellesmere keep saying they would like the practice before the finals and all that.
Obvious from your comments that you really appreciate a bit of a change, so change is what you will get, but not a lot out of a fiver. You will be sorry to hear that today I blew up a 48volt speed controller that I had planned to use on Sunday, wouldn't mind but it set me back nearly 60 notes, so that plan is out the window and I'm not happy. The new course might reflect this change, but as always, all are very welcome to attend and participate, or just join in the general banter that goes on.
Just had a thought :D Put out the course, not too complicated, and only give judge :police: copy of correct route through it then see how you get on, sound O.K.
See you all Sunday
-
told you all he was sadistic ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

-
:D :D :D man you guys are lucky over there tankers and oil platforms
-
daft question but next year I may bring my ready to run up to have some fun, as a member of the PMBC and so insured, is it ok for me to join the events at the wirral lake?
-
yes of coarse as long as you have the dreaded insurance
-
I am indeed insured, as a paid up member of the Potteries Model Boat Club, I have cover via the clubs insurance with the National Assoc. of Model Engineers, (NAME), for off-club events, I also carry a certificate of insurance, and my club ID badge.
-
see you there ghost. P's are you going to wickstead park on the 15th for shiphandling finals
-
i want to see how funds are first before i commit to anything like that. if I turn up, look out for the nuclear twins
-
you guys need insureance to sail boats? WOW :D
-
its mainly because of the "so SUE ME!" society, if for example a boat is on the stand and the operator is doing a pre-sail system check and some kid puts the finger in the prop "whats this fo..OWWWWWWW" whilst its spinning, and mommy or daddy want then sue! yes its happenned !
-
what ever happened to it's not your's dont touch!!!!
as far as i know only r/c planes need the ins
-
Not sure if it is a legal requirement , but most events require that you have insurance in case somebody's little darling touches the item saying "DO NOT TOUCH" this then falls on them hurting their foot, giving the person next to them whiplash, apparently it is your fault.
Its best to be covered , our club includes it in the price of membership.
-
We also have to have insurance to race our boats in the OMRA.
But when you have 8, 2 metre boat doing 40 mph, you can understand why?
Some of the lake are public and the driving is not always the best!
Hence i am into tugs!
-
pending the wether it looks like theres going to be a few new faces about not just the usual crew of reprobates sorry all you reprobates out there you know who you are ;D ;D ;D
looks a great venue I'm looking forward to visiting
-

Good for you Simon, Where are you from?
John.
-
John,
Dont laugh, and dont type cast me. ESSEX.
Have had a Kingston Mouldings Dutch Tug for years and took it to Wickstead for the Mayhem weekend along with a couple of other boats.
Had a crack at towing on the Sunday in the rain and had a great time, lasts for hours and its nice to actually do something. Not like all my launches, change the batteries every five minutes!
A mate, Mart and i then decided to build a couple of proper ones, you know the story since then!
I also race in OMRA but not for a while due to cancelled races, not sure what is happening next year and have to keep the feet wet!
-
us from e port are going myself (Steve) ,mike and john who nows what boats and none of them will ever be finished ;)
