Title: Newbie starting out (again)
Post by: Iceworx on July 12, 2017, 02:32:37 pm
Hello everyone,

I'm just getting back into model boating after about a 30 year break.  I was clearing out my mums loft a while ago and came across a model boat my dad made for me when I was about 7, so it brought back a huge flood of feelings and emotions.  I thought about just giving it to a charity shop for a while, but cannot bring myself to do it.  So it's sat in my garage, and I'm hoping to refit it all with new radio gear, motors , ESC and batteries etc.

It's going to be a pretty slow rebuild, as I don't have a huge budget to work with, and time is a little thin on the ground too after becoming a new dad.

I've also got a hell of a lot to try and learn again.

Can anyone recommend any places for cheap / 2nd Hand components at all?  I'm looking for a 15a ESC, 600 speed motor, 2 way radio set and some 7.2v batteries.

I'm based in the north west if that's any help.

Thanks
Chris
