Has anyone built a hydrofoil craft? Are there any good hydrofoil kits available? i have seen a model of a soviet Babochka class hydrofoil but it does not seem to be available in the UK. It looks great but i wondered if it would be far in advance of my medium building abilities.
any advice would be welcome.

thanks

Hi y Sharkbait,

I made a hydrofoil from plans some years back - Lecrofoil from the plans service - made it almost to plans, fitted a radio and it worked from the word go.
Jst don't let the club know-all adjust your foils with a pair of pliers - never 'flew ' properly again.

Have a go, it's not as difficult as it looks.

At that price, its getting pretty close to one of the RTR foils from Scalespeed http://www.scalespeed.com/rhs_en.htm (http://www.scalespeed.com/rhs_en.htm)  :D

Like anyone outside of his home province has been able to get pricing information...  :-\
At least I haven't been successful...

Had to try to build my own...
As for success, .... still working on that too.. ::)

Umi,

How is the build going? Would love to see some internal shots of her to see how she is made up. Any success on the water yet?

Pumps have been the most difficult issue.
Going on a third,...er.... fourth wait, there was an impeller change also, so...
Fifth attempt, and brushless.

I also have frames for a PT50 set aside..( should have done the PT-50 build first... ::) )
pump test bed for lift up the struts
pump two
pump two in its running configuration
pump three change out
2 and 4 blade impeller
