Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone out there has got any information available on a Kingdon type vertical boiler, suitable to drive my Marcher and Borderer steam engines?
Any information available drawings, designs, dimensions etc... would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Frank

Jim....a GOOGLE search on Kingdon Boilers offers a good number of images of builds......The British Martin Baylis Eng offers them, MacSteam just before closure made a number for sale....Nigel from Pendle Boilers would also be a starting point....[although these are boiler builders & sales people...not for plans]
From my limited understanding, the actual Kingdon boiler construction differed from horizontal water cross tubes to vertical heat tubes?...which would have suited coal burning.....again I am unsure if this carried over to model construction of Kingdon look a like boilers.....having said this, they are certainly very visually appealing for a model build open launch :-))

Our member KBIO from France is part way with a build and using a Kingdon model boiler...... Another member here, Bernhard BB has a beautiful open launch + Kingdon build on Youtube.......did your question in Model Engineering offer any results?
Would be interested to hear how you progress........... Derek

Thanks for the help Derek,
I have seen the images on google - that's what made me think of building a Kingdon type boiler.
To find detailed info on them is a different matter...
I will try and contact the members mentioned below and keep you posted.
Cheers
Frank :-)
