Just had a message about a BEN AIN I owned some 10 years ago about how much ballast to but into it..............I never built it so if any builders are out there of this model, could you tell me please how much you put in, using a 12v 7amp/hr battery as I haven't a clue, and the guy wanting the info didn't even leave his name via email.
thanks, neil.

Hi Afetta,
My works Ben Ain has a 7lb weight at the front of the main hatch, across the hull, a 12v 7ahr battery at the back of the hatch, 2 2lb weights under the bridge and a pound of lead shot resined in round the propshaft.
Giving a total of 12lb plus battery.
Hope this helps

Thank you all for the support, so 12 lbs seems like a good figure.

Hello Afetta
My Ben Ain has a total all up weight of 12.3 Kg. This includes 2 x 12V 7.7 A/Hr Batteries at approx. 2.5 Kg each and 700 g of lead ballast. With just one battery you would need approx. 3.2 Kg of Ballast, depending on what other fittings you have. Hope this helps

Sorry about the underlining!! It should have been under 'total' and 'each' only.
John
I've cleared it for you.
