Title: Sirmar 1/32 loyal class fleet tender
Post by: David gray on March 18, 2018, 08:32:03 pm
I bought this on ebay a builder had found it in a loft it was a total wreck , I have rebuilt and repainted it made a lot of new parts added wheel house detail and made some figures,  I think this is a sirmar 1/32 scale semi kit from the late 80s - early 90s

That's a really tidy build David and those figures give it an amazing amount of atmosphere. One to be proud of!

Really splendid restoration :-))
However, the Loyal Class were built as
training vessels for the Royal Naval Auxiliary
Service. (RNXS) and not the RMAS.
The hold was fitted out as accommodation.
The ensign would have been RNXS.

The RMAS did get to maintain these but as Ned said they were RNXS (Royal Navy Auxiliary Service).
A superb restoration.

Their purpose was to act as inspection vessels in port harbour areas in event of war, with a RNAX crew and were stored / maintained on a war level authority.
