Title: Futaba 3003 servo movement

In testing my new servo for twin rudders the movement/swing (by hand) seems excessive ie almost 180 deg swing?
It will bind up the rudders with this much movement.
Cant recall if it behaves differently under power?

I've been and tested it under power and yes, its altogether different - movement is only thru' 90 degs.
Job done.

If you swing a servo by hand, you get the full movement that is available between the end stops.  If using a servo tester, it does what the tester tells it to do, which is probably less than the full mechanical swing, but more than the swing that the radio will be able to tell it to do.  Using the radio, it does what the radio says, usually the expected 90 degrees.
Using just the middle third of the theoretical range available lets a wide variety of radios work with a wide variety of servos without risk of damaging the servos by driving them out of their operating range,
