Title: Automated progress too far?
Post by: Brian60 on June 25, 2018, 06:16:44 pm
You know the world has gone too far with automation when you read articles like this....

Crew free tugboat makes progress

Engineering giant Rolls Royce and global towage operator Svitzer have successfully demonstrated the worlds first remotely operated commercial vessel in Copenhagen harbour.
Earlier this year Svitzers tug, Svitzer Hermod, conducted a number of remotely operated manouvres. The vessel undocked performed a 360 degree turn and then navigated to Svitzers HQ quay before docking again.

Apart from the connotations of being a giant sized 1/1 radio controlled model, what does the future hold for the next generation of seagoers?[/size]
