I have an Electronize 15A ESC installed in my tug - it has two small adjusters that are accessible - one is for maximum speed, but the other is marked 'L V H' and I'm struggling to understand the function of this control. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to enlighten me. Thanks.

A small point that the instructions miss - any ESC that uses a relay for reverse needs a bit of extra attention when setting up.
You need to be sure that when the motor is running in its normal direction, the relay is NOT operated.
You only want it operated in reverse, else it will drain the receiver battery rapidly and you end up with a boat that only goes backwards.
If the relay operates to a forward stick movement, the channel reverse switch on the transmitter needs to be reversed - if this results in the motor turning the wrong way, reverse the motor leads.

Thanks Malcolm, I was aware of that, but it matters not in my tug, as the radio is powered from an 8Ah battery via the ESC's BEC. Might shorten the sailing time by 5 or 10 minutes. ok2

Even so, it does matter. The relay does get warm, and by leaving it continuously operated, its life will be reduced. While it is not unknown for a relay to stick operated, it is rarer than one that fails to operate. Easier to figure out what to do with a boat that only goes forwards, rather than only backwards. One less source of confusion always helps.

Trying to find a source to buy Electronize Speed controls in either 15 or 30 amp with reverse any help would be great.
Thanks
Duane

A quick goggle turned up Cornwall Models, the downside is that they only list a forward only version.
They were the only hit that sell that make (at least, in the first 3 pages) apart from the usual references to Amazon and fleabay, whose lists would, from experience, be anything other than that being looked for.
