Model launch 30 inches long with a rudder approx 45mm by 45mm.
No thickness given on drawing
I have some 18swg brass sheet which is 1.219mm, but it looks a tad thick to me.
Would appreciate members advice as to which gauge would be suitable

i think I used about 0.8mm when I did mine

Use what you have.
The extra thickness
will give a bit of rigidity.

the other advice i would give is if you are slitting the rudder post to insert the brass, make the rudder the same thickness as the saw kerf
