My thoughts were that the flexi tape will shrink when heated up.

I was thinking the title says it all and I have it install into my WTC so no more photos till I charge the battery

but what I did was take the printed circuit board out of the case, so as to gain room in the WTC
I wanted to cover the PCB but all my heat shrink tubing was too small, so I came up with the neat trick
will take more photos when I take it apart again , the WTC
Hope this helps.

In the OP, there is no mention of a WTC and no view of a PCB, so, really, it is just two random pictures without any explanation other than the title saying that it is a "neat trick".
I've been using sticky plastic tape to wrap PCBs and battery packs and provide a water barrier* for the last twenty years, so the novelty escaped me along with everybody else.
* the stuff on larger rolls also makes good deck patches for yachts, as does Duct tape (sometimes "Duck Tape", sometimes "Gaffer of Gaffa Tape)
