Title: Old Robbe pt 15 out of retirement.
Post by: Crazysniper on January 11, 2019, 10:06:19 pm
Pulled my first ever kit build out the loft and dusted her off .
Thought that it might bring back some good memories to those on here that might have also built one at some point.

If i remember right its going on fourteen years since i built her .
Quite quick at full throttle and loud probably due to the gearbox in the large empty hull .

Built one of these in late eighties early nineties power from a 9.6 volt Ni cad battery and the geared motor from Robbe. It sailed very well  sadly I sold it wish I could find a kit again.

BUT I need a built one, my hands and facilities mean building is out.  They sail well in standard configuration, I remember doing the kit review for Model Boats back in the 1970's; and sailing it in Eaton Park in Norwich. That is what makes me think it would be a sensible weekly sailer at Rawdon.  Fast enough to be interesting and not too heavy.

A lead foot who believes there is no such thing as too much power or going too fast.

One of my favourite boats, unfortunately in permanent dry dock as i lost wheelhouse when it capsized, she was running brushless on 11.2v lipo, very fast but a lot of fun  :-)
