Good morning!
I have just acquired a lovely "Mickey Finn" model, and am having a great time sailing it,
Wondering if anyone else on here is currently sailing one, or has one for sale, or repair, as I would love to get another to race with a friend.
Regards,
Brian.

I bought a Mickey Finn hull on ebay a little while ago. Any idea on where I can get a mast, boom and sail for her.?

Good morning!
I thought I had written a reply to this, but can't seem to find it.
No idea where to get a mast and sails, but you are welcome to contact me, and use mine as a template,. or I can send you photos and measurements,
Brian.

Thank you very much. I would be most grateful if you could send me photos, dimensions etc. How do you want to do it?

could a moderator remove the email address for the receivers privacy - should be a private pm (they have is street address as well) :P

Sorry about that, I didn't follow protocol, my mistake.
Feel free to delete, I'll not do that again. {:-{

Sorry, wasn't telling you off, its to stop a guest of a more nefarious individual, so as not to start to spam you, its best doing a private pm rather than publish your e-mail, as for your postcode less of an issue, unless you talk about a very valuable item and that individual targets your area trying to find it. Understood, no offence taken, just a slip up on my part.

...and the story never ends....I have been tasked with building a replacement rig for a Mickey Finn......don't ask me how I talked myself into this....However, there were two versions of the ball and socket mast location arrangement..... mine, with the ball mounted in the hull, and the socket on the mast, and another with the opposite.
Of course, the new one I have to make is the reverse, so I cannot just build off mine as a template.
To compound matters, the "socket" in this boat doesn't appear to be a full ball socket, rather a location hole with a chamfered lead in.
The fact that it's buried in the bow hidden from view except from the hole on top makes it difficult to measure.
I'm working on it, trial and error, but it would still help if there were any rigs or masts out there that need a new home, so.......anybody got one?
Thanks in advance,
Brian.

Hi:
I've added this design here: http://www.allradiosailboats.com/design/mickeyFinn
If anyone here has dimensions, more photos, manuals, plans, etc, please contact me using the Contact Form on the website.
Thank you.

Thanks for that, I'm assuming that is the earlier design, as it has the tripod fairlead assembly, as does mine, which is numbered K224.

Hi Brian
I'm new to this site, so please be patient!!
I have recently found in the attic an unmade Mickey Finn kit that I bought ages ago and then lost interest. The box has suffered a bit in the attic, but all the parts are there and match the instructions. There is even an application form to join the association!
I can't see how to load pictures to this site, so if you let me have your email address, I'll send you some. It looks like you live in or near Dudley, and I am in Pershore, so reasonably local.

OOOOPS {:-{ I said that I was new to this!
What is PM please, and how do I use it?

PM = personal messages
Click on username and then on "send personal message" on the left side
BTW - this is for your safety - publicly posting email addresses allows the whole world to email you - ant we know the world has some bad guys....

When typing your message, look under the box you are typing in and you will see
Attachments and other options
If you click on the text, the options appear for selecting your computers location to add photo's - remember too big a file and it will fail the test, in that case you will lose all you typed, so ideally add the photo's first then add the text in the box, or use a word processor and copy and paste your text, but the easiest way is to check the photo's location on your computer first to check that the file size is less than 500 KB, and resize them so when you add them after typing your message that the 10 photo's or less will fit in the message.
