Does any know where I might be able to find drawings for Modern day Japanese Naval ships. Looking for any thing from 1970's and onwards. I can find American, British, Germany and Russian, but haven't had any luck for Naval ships from Japan.
Thanks

Bit of a long shot but have you tried searching for the Japanese self defence forces?

Just build an Arleigh Burke Class and fly a Japanese flag.

So true Umi :o .....Japan Steel Company, Mitsubishi & IHI......all made under Licence from the original manufacturers....... 8) ......
Aegis systems....the Kongo Class are clones of the original Bourke Class
Even the 4 IHI built gas turbines are made under Licence to the GE Corporation for the LM2500 originals......
Derek
[PS....I drive a Mitsubishi Lancer {-) .....but even with a past involvement in above water weapons for our RAN, I find the Aegis system difficult to define ]

Sorry a Burke hull will not work at all. Here are the specs:
LOA Beam
Burke Flt IIA 505 feet 59 feet
Kongo 528 feet 69 feet
Atago 541 feet 68 feet
The other ships that I was asking about not even close to a burke hull or any other US warship.

For the Kongo, that just means the frames need 16% increase to the beam, and
the keel needs a 4% increase in length, at the midship, before you cut any wood.

That is possible, but their are still some imperfections in doing that. Also comes down to having plans to build an accurate model as well. No I wouldn't use the instructions from a 1/350 scale model either. It's amazing with many different Naval models that a person can get, no one makes one or can get a model or plans to build a model of the Japanese Naval ships.
Duane
Oh It's
104.5% increase in lenght
116.9% increase in beam

There are some basic side and plan views here -https://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/ships/destroyers-japan/

See, you know 'exactly' what I am talking about. You just have to get busy. :-))
