Title: Aoshima 1/350 Takao and Chokai
Post by: Pointy on September 29, 2007, 06:51:58 pm
Have seen these kits for myself in a model shop the attention to detail is staggering. It even has clear perspex parts for the bridge windows....... Price was £79  :o Seems rather alot for a plastic kit so didn't come home with one. What do you guys think?

My opinion is, if you want it and can afford it buy it!!

I don't know about the kit personally, but I can recommend HobbySearch (the shop you linked to) if you have any questions, drop them an email they're pretty knowledgeable about what they stock.

Is the kit worth the money? Only you can decide, but I'm the last one to tell you not to buy it!

Factors affecting price? Aoshima stuff is generally pretty low volume run stuff so there may be a case for buying it now if you EVER want to have an example of the kit. Newer Aoshima is generally very good in fit and finish, their kits are/were very complex as a rule, but the aforementioned fit and finish was occasionally not so good in my experience.
