Title: Say goodbye to CVE 73 U S S Gambier Bay
Post by: Stan on August 26, 2019, 01:04:10 pm
This weekend at Haydock saw the last outing of this model. Over the last nine years it been seen at many shows but it is now getting very hard to put it away after these events. If in the future I build the second carrier then CVE 73 may be seen again. It is now back in its box to keep out the dust and sunlight  it will be checked once a year for any problems.

I can assure you longbuild you will not see this again for a very long time. If I started the new carrier now you would be looking at a three to four year build.

Stan, it's sad to see a lovely model going in to retirement, but I can simplify with you, as moving large models like this is when they get damage.  I have a 8 ft model of the last Ark Royal which has been in storage for over 8 years.
