Title: Krick borkum advice

So I am at the stage of putting the rudder heel on and the rudder post through the brass sleeve in the hull however there seems to be a little bit of tension when test turning the rudder by hand. Should this be very free turning or is a tiny bit of resistance ok as I’m sure a servo would have no problems turning it.

My first thought - is there any foreign matter inside the rudder tube, or perhaps overspill from the glue used to install the tube?

Hi Matt, in that case I would go ahead and install the servo, link up to the tiller arm(s) and test by hand. Obviously, there will be resistance but, as long as the resistance isn't too severe, it should be safe to plug into your receiver.  :-))

All sorted now with a careful bit of filing and checking. It just shows that you shouldn’t always trust a manufacturer’s hole mark positioning too much. My own fault there.
