Title: Epoxy resin on ABS
Post by: Southern Sailor on April 12, 2020, 03:04:09 pm
Can anyone give me some advice on whether:
1) I can use a two part epoxy on ABS plastic and
2) I can use epoxy resin as a filler in the bows of an ABS plastic hull for strengthening the bow.

   Thanks. Brian

Oops sorry I see there is quite a bit on this in the Glues thread, so I presume that resin, being a type of epoxy will also work ok. Cheers.  Brian

Yes, but just check that the glue you choose works with ABS.
Traditionally, for unknown plastics, Stabilit Express is the glue of choice.... Devcon Plastic Weld is also worth a look.

Thank you Martin. I'll see what we have available at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully our retailers are still in business then.
