Hi all,
I've just helped my son paint the inside of his boat with sanding sealer, to waterproof it.
Now, we may have gone a bit heavy with the sealer, but it looks like the sealer may have affected the glue? It, looks like it's gone white in places? Maybe softened it a bit too?
The glue is deluxe materials aliphatic resin. The sanding sealer is deluxe materials sand n seal. Neither product mentions a risk to the other.
Have I done something wrong, or will it all dry out, and garden up over time? Could the joints be weakened? {:-{
Thanks for any advice...

Why not give deluxe a ring and ask their advice as they are both deluxe products, they should know best ...

could be just over thick sanding sealer as sealer is white ...

The two products are waterbased and should be 100% compatible with eath other. I really wouldn't worry and I use both.

Thanks all, I'll maybe drop them a message just to check!
Looks like the joints may be during back to clear again.
I'll go lighter with the second coat!

That is what can happen with acrylic. If you wet it then it turrns milky until it dries out if it isn't already 100% cured. Same thing happens with acrylic varnish and paint.

Hi All,
Deluxe materials got back in touch with me, they say that I do not need to worry, and that maybe the aliphatic resin hadn't dried fully.
I'm a bit surprised, as some of it had been on the boat for a couple of weeks.
The whiteness has gone overnight, but the yellowish colour is still noticeable. The painted glue still seem a bit soft. I can push my nail into it.
I'll leave it for a day or so to see if it fully re-hardens.
Thanks
Rich
