A nice one appeared on the Mayhem Facebook page just this week, so well worth restoring!

I would definitely restore it, its a nice looking model, and these days there are some really small powerful brushless stetups you can get (greater minds than mine on here will be able to help) 👍

Definitly restore her! She is a thing of beauty. If your speed is slow even with a brushless (and yours looks pretty large) it may be the prop is the wrong pitch, and needs changing for one that matches the power better. It might be too fine?

Does the motor rev slow? If so check the shaft for tight bearings or lubricant that is too stiff, or maybe the battery is wrong???

Hi Grace
Depends on the length and width the boat.
Lipo batteries would be a must as it is a fast boat.

Hi Grace
I did not read the first post, I was green with envy with the pictures of the boat !!!

The motor, ESC, prop and drive line all require an upgrade.
Keeping the age look of the boat with only repairs as required.

A 35mm 1250/1450Kv brushless motor on 4S Lipo with a 60 Amp ESC.

Prop 35/40 mm surface as the boat sits on half the prop out of the water!!
The balance point of the boat is very important, but that's is a total trail and error.
