Hey gang, I was asked to put up a post as a new member. Well, like I guess many of you built models as a kid in 70’s and 80’s. Now, an old dad at 53 trying to get my son who suffers from ADHD into modeling. Recently bought the old Lindbergh blue devil destroyer that I built with my dad in 1979. Hoping to learn a lot from you guys !
Thanks All,
Brian

Hey Brian,
Welcome to the community.
As a fellow Yank on the forum, I want to warn you that there is a whole new world here to get lost in.
I am a grandpa to 8, and so far none of my grandkids are of an age to focus on model, too many Legos I guess.
They do love to see crafts on the water, and lately I have let them drive a little.
Hope you have success with your son.
Any time spent is time well spent.

Hi welcome not sure we have many young people like yourself on this forum! I think that might get me into trouble.
Good luck with the modeliing, do you have many places to sail? I mean non-salt water?
We used to have lots of small lakes in the UK and purpose built model sailing ponds but they have gradually vanished or Local councils have failed to maintain them.
Nice to have your own full size battleship though.
regards
Roy

I remember going to see Iowa when she visited Portsmouth back in the 80's. Never got on as the queue was 4 hours long. I was supposed to be at work as well.
