Title: Prop tube installation advice

I'm ready to fix the brass prop tube (stuffing tube?) Into a fibreglass hull (MFA spearfish). What's the best glue for this? The instructions say liquid silicone glue...I was thinking araldite (it's going to have a fast brushless setup), can anyone give advice either way?

Epoxy has always worked for me. Araldite or otherwise. I do prefer the slow set myself but not the easiest to find, everyone seems to want rapid.

Aradite is fine, just make shore the brass stuffing tube is clean from grease, oil and has now finger prints on it

I have used Araldite or another epoxy for all of my prop tubes (stuffing tube is, I think, an American term) and none have given me any trouble.  Give the area of the tube that will be glued a good rub down with some fine abrasive paper and keep your fingers away from it thereafter.  Wedge, tape or superglue your tube in the correct place and angle, then tape under the bottom of the hull to stop any leakage.  Apply the epoxy from inside the hull, then prop the hull so that the glued area is as level as you can make it. (Even fairly thick epoxy will ooze away from your joint over the time it takes to cure.)  Alternatively, build a little dam around the joint with wood or plastic to contain the epoxy.

Hi All
Totally on the right info !!!

We added the 10mm stringers to the bottom inside of the Spearfish to mount the motor, ESC and battery on.

This stop the hull from drumming at high speed !!!

Setup is a Hobbyking 3648-1450kv brushless motor, car ESC 120Amp, Nano tech 15.2 Volt 4S 5000mah 90C Lipo battery with a 2 blade 38mm CNC prop(pitch 1.4).
Speed, GPS at 40KPH !!!!

How much runtime do you get with that setup canabus?

And make sure it's electrician's PVC tape, not paper masking tape or anything else - masking tape won't peel off the cured epoxy.

Depends on the speed runs !!!
But with cruise runs and half speed on the turns a good 1/2 hour !!!
We have not push the battery to the limits as it upsets the other boat uses with high speed runs time after time!!!
But check out you plan speed run without running into other boats is a must!!!
