Title: diva prop shaft

I've tried to reduce the noise from the prop shaft of this model,it's m2 bar quite flexible,I even put a new shaft in ,tried grease, any one had same prob can anyone give me any tips on how to make it quieter, phil g

Never had this problem but would fitting a PTFE sleeve the full length of the shaft tube help?  Bit like on a flexi shaft.

Hi Phil, Check if the shaft is straight by rolling it on a flat surface, if it is "true" noise is usually caused by out of line motor or worn universal joint.

When i built my Diva, the bearing at one end of the supplied prop had been attached at a slight angle so wouldn't even accept the shaft let alone turn. Maybe yours isn't as bad but is still slightly "off".

a picture of inside would help. there are reasons for noise, so we might be able to see it.
Is the coupling aligned, propshaft supported, motor mount flexible etc etc

I have had loud noise from models when the platform for the motor mounting has space between it and the hull. Really had bad noise on my smit neatherland model, I cured it by filling in the area under the bottom plywood shelf with P38.
