Has any member attempted the Maximus conversion for the Trumpeter Astute or has any knowledge of any reviews on this conversion?

No doubt you'll have seen this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=40Ywbpc4Z-U&t=15s

Yes I have but I did wonder what the actual kit was like as being slightly suspicious sort of bloke, having paid all of $20 for a Rolex which the seller positively assured me was genuine as he was the Rolex dealer. I did wonder why he was operating out of a cardboard box in the Riyadh souk.

Don't know anyone with their kits. One or two have used their peristaltic pumps, and are very happy with them.
If you want a UK supplier I think the kit R&R supply for the Trumpeter Seawolf might be a possibility for the Astute. Still a pump based system, but with an aspirated tank via a snorkel.

Ron tried to fit one of his WTC's to the Astute but could not find a solution, I shall give the Maximus kit a try and from reading the instructions I shall have to improve my German.

I looked up the Astute dimensions, according to the wiki it would come out at about 78.5mm beam at 1/144.
So unless the hull is extremely thick or the dimensions are out I would expect Ron's 70mm module to fit, although it will be a snug fit, easy to check if you already have the kit. Some of the module is likely top sit above the surfaced waterline if going for a scale effect.
I do recall Ron mentioning the kit had some internal protrusions which made the conversion trickier than the Seawolf, not sure if he was referring to the pegs I've highlighted in the pic, but if so, they would be soon be history with a Dremel and a sanding drum.

Ron and I worked for a couple of months on trying to fit his modified 70mm tube in the Astute it was costing a fortune in lunches, The Maximus module slides in rather like the Engel, I think that it is quite a reasonable price to give it a go and put the build on Mayhem.

Okay understood. The other chap I've seen doing a module listed as suitable for the Astute is- https://www.rcshipyard.com/produkt/wtc-kit-for-trumpeter-seawolf-no-fitting-conversion-kit/

A nice Trumpeter Astute conversion. While it doesn't use a Maximus WTC, she does use a peristaltic pump coupled with a "floating piston" ballast tank.
