Hello!
One day I decided to buy a hull from Orion Moulding and make a launch out it.
The hull was well done and helped by a pic from here and there , I managed to build something which looks good.
First pics show how I made the inside . No hull to build, so the work goes (too) fast !
The boiler is a Pendle Steam and the engine is a triple from Anton (5,5 cc if I remember)

Beautiful woodwork and a very impressive boiler

Hello!
Some more photos of the construction of the cabin.
Things are slow but it is a real pleasure to work it out.
-
Beautiful doors, well done. The detail for the cable operated rudder looks interesting, would love to know more about it?
-
What a boat. The workmanship is superior!
But I have to disagree-- I think you do take it seriously!

Your workmanship on this boat is beautiful and a real credit to you.

Very nice boat. Can we see more of the engine? You just showed a corner of it :-)

Hello!
Thank for your kind comments.
Concerning the rudder, it is operated by a servo hidden in the helm’s box (photo 1)
The cables port & starboard are wrapped around the helm axle .
Hopefully , the set up is reliable so far as it would be a headache to fix it in case of failure.
Now, I have a servo dircetly operating the rudder and the cables are only operating the helm…. when it works.
Next pics show the construction of the cabin.
I'll put a video of the engine later on/
Best regards.
P.S : no way to insert photo for the time being, I'll try later. >>:-( Sorry !

Hello!
Tonight, some details of the launch which almost ready for the steam test.
-
It's like watching a swiss watch being assembled - great job, well done.

Très Bon :-))

Very nice. You don't use a condensate separator in this boat?
-
Hello!
Yes, I did not install a de-oiler as I wanted to try olive oil on this engine.
The engine is a TOPAZ - 6.7 cc . from ANTON.
What are the consequences on the environement if I use organique olive oil ? Apart from the nauseating smell, … ?? Good question to submit to the World Environnemental Meeting.
Actually, this is when the engine starts that it fills up the de-oiler with condensate and oil. So I let it warming up through a rag and then put the boat in the water ; only when it blows clean.
When it runs, there is a tiny part of oil going through and depositing a thin film on moving parts. Immediatly washed away by the steam , I guess.
I did not notice any sheen at the back of the launch. In any case it will be less than what the local old farmer’s tractor spreads around.
If necessary , it is not a big deal to slot one on the side of the boiler.
Below the last photos I have before going to the pond.
Steam test on the bench.

Nice big Brittany flag :-))

Good evening!
Tonight, the last photos and a video on the Adel sailing.
She leans on the left , I forgot to put some weight. >>:-(
No problem for the first trip !
The problem with the steam is that, or it works good and this is boring, or there is problems and .... that's the best to keep awake ! {-) O0
Thank you for watching.
Next week it will be another one if you are not fed up with ! %)

Absolutely stunning, you have made a really nice job of this build, the carpentry and finish is beautiful
-
Thats such an interesting engine, I'd like to see some good close-up pictures of it. Regarding olive oil: no matter the lubrication, I would still add a condensate tank just to keep the boat from getting dirty and wet.

Good evening.
Thank you for your kind comments. That is encouraging !
The only good pic that I have (unless I pull the engine out of my boat) is the one below. But it telles it all. ok2
As you can see the lateral distribution .
That engine did propelled the Paterson 'ENRIE New York tug that we can see beside the ADEL on a pic higher.
The paterson weights 27 Kg and has an American propeller of 13 cm.
I shall talk of her later. But I cha,ged the engine now, though !
Keep safe .
Cheers!

Thank you for the pictures! It is a very nice looking engine, with the valves sideways. I wonder why Anton doesn't make it any more? It would be nice to have it in a 2 cylinder version as well.
