Title: 1950's Carrier deck light colour
Post by: Rob47 on January 31, 2021, 02:58:43 pm
Would anyone know the colour of the deck landing lights that might have been fitted to the Colossus Class light fleet Carriers in the 50's?

I may be way off, but I would guess that deck lighting would be fairly standard, nation to nation, within given time frames. The 50's is a broad time frame. I have David Hobbs Aircraft Carrier Victorious original builders plans, and it has a well documented flight deck lighting plan.I am happy to scan it and send it to you if it will help. PM or e-mail me.cheers

Thanks for the offer, got both Victorious plans books, but, I am finding big differences between the large fleet carriers and the light Carriers.  So far it seems amber centre line with red to indicate the end of flight deck, and either a line of blue/red at the round down
