Title: Sisters of Smit Nederland

Despite of research, I don't seem to be able to locate the "seventh" sister. Anyone found them all?
What was her IMO, name, and its whereabouts today?


So far, I got these six, and even these data may be outdated:


Smit Nederland - Now Hercules I, in Colombia? IMO7800459
[size=78%]Smit Zweden - Ureka XII, in [/size][/size][size=78%]Equatorial Guinea? IMO7800461[/size]

I wonder what the story is with Smit Frankrijk IMO 8012011.
The IMO number suggest building year 80 or 81. She looks very much like Smit Nederland, doesn't she?
If the latter is also a sister ship, there are eight instead of seven.
I'm afraid my understanding of the number of sisters comes from the Billings kit box :embarrassed:


I haven't found historical fleet information on Boskalis/Smit website.

Smit Duitsland, IMO 7800514 has sailed in/from Venezuela by the name Antares.
But by the IMO, the tug is no more  :((


The explanation can be that her AIS transmitter is turned off. But even in that case, some historical data about a ship’s  whereabouts is usually available.


When Smit Finland, later Ureka XIV, transmitted no AIS signal, I could still find out that some years earlier she had been in Guangzhou, China.

She was spotted in Puerto la Cruz in 2014.
Disclassified in 2011.
