Title: Insurance for model boat clubs- who do you use?
Post by: raflaunches on March 04, 2021, 07:40:54 pm
Hi everyone

Probably been asked before but what insurance companies do you use as committee members to insure your club on the water, shed/shelter at lakeside, public liability/indemnity, etc?
I would like to see a variety of reputable companies that will insure and not charge over the top in your opinion.
I would like to contact them to see what they would charge for a club so I can compare to my club’s current insurer.
Many thanks

By sheer coincidence, got an email from our club secretary yesterday indicating that we have just taken out a policy with that company - former insurers quoted £500.00, Stamp (as above) £68.80p
- its a no brainer really.

To be fair though, our previous policy covered activities that we don't actually participate in.

Definitely worth considering Stamp insurance Nick.

Ray.

We went from the Co-OP to Protectivity and saved about £300.00 per year for better cover.  We were guilty of "auto renew".

We are with Stamp £70ish I think we was in the £500 area a few years back I did not bother covering the contents of the lock up there is nothing in it worth any value.

Hi all we are a model engineering society so burning coals are on the menu!  I asked Stamp for a quote and they declined.  Back to Walker Midgley and the new company Travellers Insurance.
