Title: A barge for my harbor tug
Post by: Speed123 on July 16, 2021, 09:24:10 am
Hallo,

last year it came the idea for a pull/push toy suitable for my harbor tug "Fairplay VI".

During the build it became more as intended and additional ideas were realised.

The video gives a summary of the build.

Thank you Martin.

Found another set of base plates for the barge; this set should display some equipment for demolition-work, which needs to done from the waterside.

First a scale demolition excavator was ordered at Amazon and equipped with signs of a more local company.

The base plates were weathered and other equipment (mostly CNC-milled Cut-outs) were obtained.

Next step is building the equipment and finding a senseable location on the barge.

So far so good

Cheers

The excavator was weathered for a more realistic look:

Off to the paint shop.

Hello,

a barge with the equipment as described above was launched yesterday for the first time:
(https://www.modelboatmayhemimages.co.uk/images/2021/11/10/S2-03030HPG.th.jpg) (https://www.modelboatmayhemimages.co.uk/images/2021/11/10/S2-03029HPG.th.jpg)

The payload has now reached its limit; at full throttle the front of the barge gets flooded (see Video):
