Title: Another question !
Post by: KBIO on September 10, 2021, 03:57:23 pm
Hello !
I have a boiler with is looking good and well manufactured but I do not know who is the manufacturer.
150 mm high by 85 mm dia.
Any help on this matter would help. Also , what the burner size used ?
The good thing in it is the super heater which is inside the boiler. I know that M.Bayliss use the same technic on his last boilers , nobody else that I know.
Subsidiary question : what paint are you using for painting an engine. (heat resistant ) ? And what colors are available for that ?
Thanks a lot for your collaboration .
Best regards.

Looks like a Cheddar to me, could be the Proteus vertical or the Puffin vertical.

Hi have had a quick look in the Cheddar catalogue and agree its most likely a vertical Proteus, here is a photo, the smaller boilers only had two brass bands. In addition the chimney and the safety valve appear to be the same as yours.

Hello !
Thanks a lot  !
I think that you guys are right ! It looks exactly like mine with the steam exhaust on the top side. After a long trip trough the super heater.
Now, I need to know what size jet , I need to use. I would go for N° 8 - .25 mm / 90 gr/h .
But if you can confirm , I would appreciate.
Regards.
