Title: Caldercraft - Imara - a bit of help required!
Post by: SimonCornes on September 16, 2021, 11:54:58 am
Hi,
Yesterday I picked up a built Imara but I am very keen to get hold of a set of the building instructions and, possibly also, the plans. Why? Because as I didn't build it I don't know if its been put together properly and I need part numbers if I need to order any replacement parts!

Does anyone have a set of instructions - pdf would be fine - and maybe a plan that they no longer need because their boat is built?

I know I can get a set from JoTika but I don't fancy shelling out £20! Of course I'm happy to pay anyone their postage costs.

I'm thinking of replacing the motors with pair of CEM 900's and fitting 70mm props. Any thoughts about ESC's? The suggestion I have is an MTronic 30amp?

Many thanks

Simon

I used mfa 800's in mine.
Please dont use a geared motor the noise is not realistic.

Thanks guys, I wonder how MFA (Marlin?) comported price wise with CEM ? I must say that I am favouring CFM, simply because its their boat so I sort of think they know what is best.

Anyone out there with a set of instructions and plans they no longer need?

CEM 900 motors will be ideal for the imara.

Another query. I'm thinking of getting hold of a pair of MTronik 30 amp speed controllers. It was suggested to me today that I could use JP Marine 50A (brushed) with reverse 55510135 (Up to 50A forward and 20A reverse). Quite a bit cheaper but would they work as well? I really have no idea!!
Help!!!!

I’ve just started a thread in tug R & D by mistake but I’m now looking for a set of the rope guard templates as the ones on my boat are not right!!
If you can email me something that would be great!
Thank you
Simon
