Model Boat Mayhem

Hello from Victoria, BC, Canada.
Recently retired and have not built a model in close to 40 years. Built a few small 12-20 foot wooden boats which is certainly not a financially sound hobby. Decided it would be much cheaper to build model boats instead and have just purchased the Amati Bismarck to give it a go. Found this forum through a link somewhere to Martin builds Bismarck. That thread had 4 pages of great pictures of Martins build then stops and says you need to be registered to see more. Now that I am registered there are still just 4 pages and there is a lock symbol on the thread. Is there more to the thread and if so is there a way of accessing it?
Few other questions if I may.
Suggestions for glue types and paint choices - same brands for brushing vs spraying? This is a big model so assume these paints also come in something bigger than the little 17 ml Testors bottles. Never used an airbrush before but never too old to learn. Suggestions for a good airbrush to start out? Have not had a good look yet but are likely good threads on the various aspects of wooden boat modelling.
Looking forward to the build and to digging through this website and forums. Attached photo of my last full sized boat build
Cheers
Dan

When a thread is locked it does not stop you seeing the whole thread, just means you can not add any new posts. The Bismark thread is taking an extended break, very extended. Hopefully will be restarted one day. <*< <*<

{-) {-) - Yes, still got it TLB! ..... one day .....
"Suggestions for glue types and paint choices"
- Go with Amati recommendations to start with.
NB: not all glues are equal, don't buy the cheapest you can find. Ask on here for specifics!
" ...brands for brushing vs spraying? .... Suggestions for a good airbrush to start out?"
- Lots and lots of good advice and tutorials on youtube.
Don't buy an expensive set to start with, airbrushing may not be 'your thing', but the basic sets on Amazon etc.
( cheapo airbrush, compressor, etc ) eg:shorturl.at/pvKS2 will get you going, and you can easily upgrade as the
desire takes you.
