Hi guys!
Although my 1/12 TID is still in the build & im cracking on with it! :) ...I decided a while ago that my next build will be something a little more relaxed in form of a kit build! ..I narrowed it down to 2 choices, The Anteo from Panart or Imara from Caldercraft.
In the end i decided on the Anteo, price was also a factor as i managed to pick up the Anteo for £320 as the normal price seems just short of £400, whereas the Imara is around £700, and these prices are just for the kit. I will end up getting the Imara as my build after the Anteo probably! Anyway I know the Anteo will be another learning curve (even after my scratch build 1/12 TID) as the hull is double plank on frame and I've never done any planking as such before! so looking forward to the build. It's going to be a while before i start it as im not going to start the build until ive complete my 1/12 TID which is coming along nicely at the mo!
But in the meantime i will gather all the running gear/electrics etc so i would like to ask any of you guys who have experience with his type of scale tug what is best motor/esc combo and any other useful info regarding the build on this tug?
Cheers! :)

Hi mate - full build here

She's a lovely tug to build and just requires a standard brushed motor as its a scale ship. You don't need brushless unless you want too. My best advice is to get the battery weight as low in the hull as possible to make her stable on the water
Good luck - Mark

Hi Mark!
yeah I've read through that topic, some good tips & nice info! I have a few 12v 22Ah SLAs that i bought for my 1/12 TID so I'm hoping i could maybe use 1 of these instead of having to buy more! but they weigh around 8-9kg so not sure if it will be too heavy/large but will soon find out i guess!
Yeah i have no plans using brushless so i will defo be using a brushed motor, what size would you recommend? ESC wise i will probably go with an Action one or the Mtronics Viper Marine HV one :)
Thanks buddy! :)

I can’t really advise on the best motor size as I don’t have much experience with them. I’m sure that someone will help you though.
The all in weight of my Anteo is just over 10kg and that takes it down to the water line O0
