Hello all,
I recently found an unassembled Tito Neri that i plan on building next year.
The kit came with 2 Graupner Schottel II drives (2335).
I have read that the plastic pinion gears inside the drives had a tendency to wear rapidly and some mentionned that a metal alternative existed.
Unfortunately I can't seem to find such parts. Would anyone know where to look?
I would like to find those parts and have them ready for when i build this boat and do it right the first time.
Thanks!

Hallo,
if you use the german search words:
"Graupner Schottel 2335 Metallzahnräder"
you find:
Ebay Number: 265878950705

I never thought about this!!
Thank you!
The description mentions the listing is for 1 gear, if I have 2 schottel, I would need to buy 4 is that correct?
I hope this seller accepts to ship to Canada!!

Looking at the picture of the Schottel you assumption is correct.

I just realized that the 2335 changed in 2017 for a new gear design, do you know if these metal gears fit both?
Mine are the black ones so i guess they are pre-2017

hi aramis76 if they are the graupner 2335 they do 2 kinds of metal gears for the 2335 1 is a straigt cut brass gears and 1 id a steel helicoil gears i have both in my tugs and the helicoil ones are a bit quieter they are available from bauer modelle in germany here>> https://www.bauer-modelle.com/epages/Bauer_Uwe46269592.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Bauer_Uwe46269592/Categories

Hi Ray, do you mind if I contact you directly, I think i'll have a few questions!
-
I see the helicoil on their website, it's part 4.3303 but thats for their 70-BM,
It does look very similar to the 2335, I know they bought the molds back from Graupner, but are they the same parts?
Also, newbie question but those are for the bottom of the drive, on the vertical and propeller shaft right?
What about the gear on the motor shaft?
-
hi aramis76 they are just the same if not slightly better than the graupner ones as bauer modells has improved on thing
the metal gears are indeed for the bottom of the units the top gears are ok they dont need replacing 'just regular lubricant and there fine'!
it was always the bottom gears 'if they were plastic' that was the problem another upgrade bauer did was to belt drive the unit 'like you see on there site
( ive not used them ones myself ) and also they add a thread on the output shaft so you can use a prop with a thread regards ray

I reached out to bauer modelle and they told me none of their parts fit the 2335.The shaft diameters are different they say...
