Title: Coble plans
Post by: Martin (Admin) on March 10, 2023, 05:34:44 pm

Via email to Mayhem ....

Hi Martin. I  wonder if you are able to point me in the direction of plans for a coble please. Best wishes.

    Hi ,
Sorry for the delay, what type of coble?

    ( Google search: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=coble+boat+plan&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjGyL6O8rP9AhVxhf0HHZlbB_kQ7xYoAHoECCsQAQ&biw=1600&bih=754&dpr=1.2 )

    Regards,
     Martin

Hi Martin,
I'm asking this on behalf of my husband as his phone is playing up and when I passed your message on he said he was thinking of
a coble from Whitby/Flamborough.
Is that any help?
Thanks,

There is a plan for the coble Enterprise (Plan Ref. MM1040),  available from the Sarik Hobbies website. The plan dates from the 1960's, although it is a Northumbrian Coble rather than a Yorkshire Coble, (the Northumbrian Coble has slightly finer lines).

The website tradboat2.co.uk has info. and pictures about Yorkshire cobles.

Hope this helps

As an addendum to my previous post Orion Mouldings produce two very nice, high quality fibreglass moulded coble hulls, although I think that they are of Northumbrian cobles.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi folks ,I bought the Orion Moulding 37” Northumberland version hull. Superb moulding.
I’ll try and attach photos if I can.

Hi John,

The Orion Mouldings coble hull is on my ever-lengthening list of future projects.

I hail from 'coble country' on the North East coast, and I'm attaching a couple of photos.

The Queens Arms pub in Cullercoats has a boat park attached with cobles (Northumbrian) parked up.

Cheers,

Mike
