Hi Guys,
I’ve spent most of the day gawping and obsessing over the modern ‘Skogsoy’ Norwegian fishing boats!
Built buy ‘GOT AS’ in Norway.
I absolutely love them!!
The variety of uses, the overall hull shape, the size, just lovely.
Has anyone on here ever built a model of one, or know of anyone/anywhere that has?
Could anyone point me in the direction for a set of plans for one please? I’d absolutely love to do one of these unusual boats!
Hopefully someone can help.
Cheers.

Ive already got one of those which I am building now, and its an absolute dream to build! The fit is exemplary and so tight.

Umi,Thanks for that.Lovley looking boats arent they? Squat and 'baby' like. They just have something about them that really appeals to me!
That plan is great but I really need something with the hull frames on it that I can blow up and trace to cut the frames from Ply.
Cheers

Rich........don't be afraid :embarrassed: ......Google GOT Skogsoy AS.......[a hundred images].........find them... & send a request that you are a model ship builder & would like to build a scale model of one of their vessels
Dependent on your request, :P .... they may be good enough to send a set of basic hull lines if you ask nicely

Some are f-ugly, others are "chibi" cute.
I like this SeaCon, and some of the 36-38m versions.
But I am partial to the rearward pilot houses, and the Karstensen 45-50m pelagic trawlers. :-)
Catalan Moraru did a generic set of hull lines in DelftShip.

Do not to forget the wired in basket hanging of the mast/forestay. Thats my memory of them, plus a few other things!!

Thanks for all your help.I've got all the side views that I need, but what I dont have, and more importantly, is the Hull Frame shapes/Lines/Drawings for one of these vessels and I cannot seem to find any?
Help?
Cheers

The hull shape seems fairly simple, very boxy with mostly flat surfaces and not too many complex curves. Some of the drawings here show the chine lines so it could be possible to come up with a fairly acceptable version of a hull by combining several of the the elements from all of the drawings.
I've made a few hulls from only a couple of photos and some dimensions. Seems daunting but it's not too difficult.
What is the profile of the boat that you want to make?

Absolutely agree Steve that a set of hull lines could be drawn from the information contained in this thread, together with the additional images from the GOT Skogsoy AS WEB site ........
Looking closely at the design suggests a few issues for a scale model or tall Floating Box :o ...okin to a Car Carrier Box Boat
Such a build would be suspectable to a very high windage challenge, when considering how to place all heavy equipments as low as possible or below the water line
