Thid question is directed to those of you who are very familiar with motor torpedo boats. I'm wondering if the ARK Models Perkasa KD kit (of the Malaysian torpedo boat) could be converted fairly easily to the Royal Navy Coastal Forces Brave class MTB? Are there significant differences between the two boats or are the differences relatively minor? Thank you for any knowledge of this that you might share

I have a stalled but not abandoned project converting a Precedent Perkasa to HMS Brave Swordsman. I will be finishing it when the mojo returns. In the meantime I hope where I have got to so far proves to be of some help.

Thank you so much for responding! Would you know by chance where I could get drawings for both a Brave class and a Perkasa? I'll have to go through your build log a few times - it's a great build log!!

Cheers Tim, no idea on the plans option. I did see an original Vosper set for Brave Borderer once but did not get a chance for a copy. The chap then went on to build the best 1/24 scale model of it I have ever seen. Pity I didn't have a camera at the time. Other than that, the ones on my build thread were about all I could manage to source. These came from a Vosper technical promotional release I have somewhere. They were side elevations only so a bit of detective work was needed to get to where I have arrived in my build.

Ahhh - thank you! I'll keep looking and if I have any luck, I'll post it here. Thank you again though - your thread is a big help.

Just found this, pretty sure they are model plans rather than builders originals, but might be helpful as a starter to your project.
